Job DescriptionHealth and Safety Specialist - South DublinRef No: AM18196County Dublin, Republic of IrelandCompetitive salary Health and Safety Specialist - South Dublin.This person will play an active role in driving a positive and proactive safety program across the general manufacturing area. In this role you will develop collaborative relationships with all departments on site, working cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Quality & Supply Chain to help establish a strong safety culture in all departments.Responsibilities:Works with site management to develop, implement and maintain Health and Safety (H&S) programmes and systems that help support the site's Safety First Culture.Conduct daily safety walks and audits of the general manufacturing area to manage risk.Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions and recommend solutions, find areas for improvement, or implement prevention measures.Identification of workplace hazards and the completion of risk assessments, advising management on appropriate control measures to eliminate, minimise or control these hazards.Conducts regular Safety Inspections to ensure that all departments are complying with the Site Safety Statement.Champion compliance to the site cleaning safety standard across all shifts and all departments with the management teamActively drive the site program to reduce injuriesLiaises with other departments (Operations, Engineering etc.) on purchases of equipment, articles, and substances and with others as needed to ensure appropriate H&S standards are maintained.Actively participates in Project Teams/Groups established to introduce new technologies etc. to ensure that H&S is considered in the Project Planning process.Support H&S training for new and existing associates and contractors as required.Support all H&S accident/incident investigations and follow-up on close out of corrective actions.Maintain appropriate records and metric analysis data to ensure that accurate information is available to Management and outside agencies and trends are visible.Liaises closely with those responsible for Emergency Procedures within the organisation to ensure, so far as possible, the prevention of fire and the safe evacuation of employees in emergency situations.Liaise with elected Safety Representatives and the site safety committee on a regular basis to consider H&S issues and communicate openly on existing or forthcoming H&S issues.Education and Experience requirements:At least 2 years' experience in a similar role. Operational experience with a key focus on safety, within a manufacturing environment is preferred. Familiarity with regulatory compliance procedures, standard operating procedures, and protocols.Good communication, presentation, and training skills.Ability to engage and influence others regardless of role/level within the organisation.The successful candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint packages.Self-starter with demonstrated efficient work methods, analytical & problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
