Job Purpose Ayvens Insurance (AYINS) are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to support various departments and engage with both internal and external stakeholders, including an international network of insurance specialists within the Ayvens group. The successful candidate will contribute to the Ayvens's growth by leveraging data to provide insights and identify new opportunities. Key responsibilities include utilizing advanced pricing tools, conducting detailed analyses of insurance portfolios, and designing management reports and performance dashboards. This role offers a valuable opportunity to develop expertise and make a significant impact in a professional and innovative environment. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Lead the development and implementation of sophisticated data analysis tools to support various departments within AYINS, such as Underwriting, Claims, and Actuarial, ensuring alignment with company goals. Oversee the deployment and monitoring of performance dashboards for internal management and external stakeholders. Lead strategic analyses on key topics, such as electric vehicles, inflation and ensure findings are included in group communications and guidelines. Perform complex statistical analyses, develop predictive models, and provide actionable insights to drive business decisions. Direct root cause and performance analyses, identifying and reporting on trends for corrective actions. Advise on technology, tools, and techniques for Analytics, and share knowledge and best practices across departments. Engage with the wider Ayvens Data Science community and participate in relevant Data Science/Digital events. Participate in structured training for Data Scientists to provide a challenging and rewarding environment. Lead projects and initiatives to enhance analytical capabilities, introduce automation, and support big data and digital agendas aimed at increasing analytical capability within AYINS. Complete IT Security training and any other required AYINS training programs. Assist internal and external auditors in the review of the Analytics Department. Character Profile Requirements 3-5 years' experience in a similar role, or where relevant knowledge and skills can be easily transferred. Quantitative degree qualification such as mathematics, statistics, econometrics or actuarial science. Experience working with actuarial models for non-life insurance such as IBNR Techniques and GLMs Knowledge of statistical analysis and modelling techniques using for example R, SAS or Python. Highly motivated individual with a professional, proactive and flexible work attitude. Self-starting person who uses experience and creativity to find solutions for the challenges that arise. Excellent oral and written communication skills, alongside strong ability to communicate complex concepts and present data analyses to a range of audiences. Good relationship management skills and experience working with client teams to understand their needs. Organised individual who can prioritise workload and multitask in order to meet deadlines.
