At Abbott in Kilkenny, you can shape your career as you help shape the future of healthcare.This is how you can make a difference at Abbott:We now have an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Manager (Indirect Categories) to join our ADC Global Sourcing team based in Kilkenny, Ireland. As a Procurement Manager you will be responsible for the purchasing and supply management activities for indirect categories and sub categories, You will work closely with key stakeholders in both Diabetes Care Corporate and Division organizations to develop effective cost reduction strategies and implementation plans. Be Comfortable leading both directly and indirectly This position is located in Kilkenny in Ireland, and will involve travel internationally.Key ResponsibilitiesContinuously nurturing stakeholder relationships by serving as a business partner.Identify critical business requirements.Provide sourcing and procurement services that meet expectations.Analyse and coordinate projects to increase supply resilience for consumables and other indirect costs (i.e. facilities, quality, ops, etc).Spearhead reduced total cost of ownership by optimizing Tier 2 and Tier 3 supply chains, leverage extensive market and supplier knowledge to drive lower TCO.Represent Abbott strategically in the industry and community.Support in the creation of the vision and strategy with a multi-year roadmap to establish the function.Ensuring implementation and leverage of best practices and compliance across all purchasing areas.Identify opportunities for cost reductions, cost avoidance and provision of overall value improvements, whilst measuring and tracking team performance.Education and ExperienceMinimum Level 7 NFQ qualification or equivalent in a relevant discipline, ideally within an Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain or Financial fieldMinimum 3 years experience in a similar role.Experience across both operational and strategic procurement in the manufacturing environmentCertified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) , Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or similar.Project Management qualifications preferred.Self-Starter with ability to build strong relationships.Excellent interdisciplinary, intercultural, influence/negotiation and networking skills.Change management experiencePeople management experienceStrong communication skillsStrong problem solvingExperience analysing data and presenting same.What we OfferAttractive compensation package that includes competitive pay, as well as benefits such asFamily health insurance,Excellent pension schemeLife assuranceCareer DevelopmentFantastic new facilityGrowing business plus access to many more benefits.Abbott is an equal opportunities employer.
