Here, you’ll be supported in progressing – whatever your ambitions.     Purpose:   The primary role of the Product Performance lab in Boston Scientific Clonmel is to support the new product teams to identify and characterize materials and/or technologies to support the development and commercialisation of our next generation products. The team is also responsible for the execution of failure analysis testing on-site.   Key Lab Capabilities include: CT X-ray, SEM, DSC, Rheology, Surface Profilometry, FTIR, Instron tensile testers. Responsible for the initiation, design, development, execution, and implementation of scientific research projects.     Key Responsibilit ies:   Investigates the feasibility of applying scientific principles and concepts to potential technologies, materials, processes and products. Plans and executes laboratory research to prove feasibility of concepts. Maintains substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories and contributes to scientific literature and conferences. Participates in intellectual property evaluations and development of patent applications. Consults and interacts with outside and inside experts. May coordinate interdepartmental activities and research efforts. Write and submit professional articles for technical journals.     Requirements:     Hons BSc degree in a Technical Discipline (Material Science, General Science, Chemistry, Physics, Polymer Science, Analytical Science etc.) 3-4 years relevant industry or equivalent experience Experience with coating technologies advantageous but not required The successful candidate must be a self-starter with the ability to work on own initiative, while possessing strong team player characteristics.       Requisition ID:  590407   As a leader in medical science for more than 40 years, we are committed to solving the challenges that matter most – united by a deep caring for human life.
