Summer Programme Facilitator

We now have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Summer Programme Facilitator   To support the branch committee of Down Syndrome Tipperary to deliver an exciting and engaging summer activity programme for all its members.    Responsibilities:                                 Liaise with and report to the Committee of Down Syndrome Tipperary around the delivery of its plans for programmes and activities for the Summer of 2024.         Engage with and support external facilitators and programme deliverers to ensure that they are fully aware of and able to deliver a safe and enjoyable programme of activities        Engage with and co-ordinate staff and volunteers who are brought in to deliver our Summer programme        Ensure that all necessary equipment and arrangements are in place for summer activit3s        Liaise with our Therapists to ensure that the SLT camps are fully organised        Engage with our Adult Services Facilitator to ensure that the Adult activities are fully organised        Where necessary supervise/ support facilitators in the actual delivery of programmes and groups Experience Required:        Knowledge and proven experience of supporting with Down syndrome and/or learning difficulties.        The ability to respond with sensitivity and understanding when supporting people with Down syndrome, their family members and carers.        Excellent communication (Written and Presentation skills), interpersonal, organisational, logistical and IT skills.        Proven experience with groups of people with Down Syndrome        Ability to work on own initiative and as a team member        Due to the nature of the role, flexibility will be required throughout the week, including weekends        Full clean drivers' licence and access to own car is essential        Relevant 3 rd Level qualification and/or related experience Hours & Duration: This is a part- time, fixed term contract until August 31st. 20 Hours per week.
