Procurement Category Manager Ardagh Group operate 63 glass and metal production facilities in 16 countries, employing 20,000 people and have global sales of approximately $10bn. This role is responsible for all Group Plant Equipment and Spare Parts for both our Glass operating business in Europe, Africa and preferred MRO suppliers for Europe. The main purpose of this role is to develop and execute the category sourcing strategy, implement contracts, manage post-award value and serve as a unique point of contact between suppliers and the business. The role will have significant interactions with the Central Technical Service (CTS) team, local engineering, plant leadership and regional procurement teams. The role holder will: Work in conjunction with technical experts and local procurement managing suppliers to ensure compliance, best commercial value (cost and cash) and world class supply. Identify areas for closer collaboration with key suppliers related to Sustainability, digitalization, and continuous improvement. Ensure supplier agreements meet business unit needs. Initiate and implement projects to increase efficiency in the supply chain, e.g., long-term agreements and support of product standardizations. Implement KPI´s to measure, monitor and take action to ensure agreed supplier agreements are met. Support implementation and renewals of new or existing spare part agreements for OEM´s Ensure agreed terms are met and act to continuously improve supplier relation. Demonstrate commitment to the Ardagh core values through upholding our standards of business conduct, complying with Group policies and procedures and leading by example. Ensure the execution of key internal controls, as relevant, within the area of responsibility. Background / Experience Competencies. Third level qualification in Business Administration, Business Engineering or comparable. Alternatively, equivalent business background including specific, practical experience Experience in : Procurement with a technical understanding of plant equipment in a manufacturing environment. Commercial negotiations and closing agreements. Contract law / contact management. Influencing and stakeholder management. In project environment preferred. Glass business preferred. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. Confidence to act in technical environment and represent commercial standing. Fluent English language written and spoken (second language desirable). Strong strategic abilities with analytical curiosity and collaborative style High degree of motivation, ability to prioritize and self-direct, strong business acumen and interpersonal skills. Ability to Inspire, delegate and be an intuitive, creative visionary.
