Applications are invited for the following Post in the Technological University Dublin: Post: Post-Doctoral Researcher - PREDICT Project - Built Environment Research and Innovation Centre (BERIC) (Fixed term specified purpose basis for up to 5 years with funding in place for 2.5 years) Reference: 127a/2024 Location:Currently located in TU Dublin, Grangegorman, Dublin 7. Hours of Work:A 37 hour working week is in operation. Salary: The successful candidate will be appointed at point (01) of the Post-Doctoral researcher Salary Scale i.e. €46,912 gross per annum. The topic of this presentation will be as follows: "Bridging the Gap: why do Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) not reflect true energy usage in buildings and how we could adapt them to make them more useful for predicting energy consumption." Evidence of research experience and knowledge related to several activities listed in the Principal Accountabilities for this post (Essential). Experience in interpreting and analysing data and using statistical techniques, preferably related to building energy use (Essential). Knowledge of research techniques and methodologies used to obtain and analyse energy use in buildings, for example building modelling, monitoring, occupant data collection or other approach (Essential). Commitment to high quality research (Essential). Candidates will be shortlisted based on their demonstration of meeting every essential criterion so are asked to clearly outline how their experience and qualifications meet the criteria. Desirable Candidates will ideally have experience in guiding others in research and coordinating with partners and stakeholders(Desirable). Ideally the above knowledge and experience of the candidate is evident in their strong publication record (Desirable). Strong written and verbal communication skills with a range of stakeholders such as occupants, building professionals, industry partners and academics (Desirable). Strong mathematical skills, particularly in relation to datasets and/or the determination of relationships between parameters. This can include the integration of data or information from multiple sources (Desirable).
