The Dublin-based team will play a critical role in our continued digital transformation and will function as a center of excellence for SiriusXM’s global Product and Technology organization. SiriusXM’s new Dublin facility will comprise a workforce primarily focused on software development, automotive technology and engineering, AdTech, data science, and analytics. Talent based in the new technology hub will be charged with developing and implementing best-in-class standards for high-quality, scalable software deliveries for SiriusXM’s streaming and in-vehicle audio entertainment platforms. What you’ll do: The Principal Software Engineer will be primarily responsible for ensuring the deliverables for the development and execution of software for SiriusXM Satellite Radio systems. Typical duties of the Software Principal Software Engineer will include: Contribute and oversee a team which: Designs, implement, test, and documentation of software, which is used to develop, prototype, validate SXM satellite technology. Additionally, this team will assist customers integrating SiriusXM technology into their systems and products. Capable of assuming design responsibility for sections of the software solution for SXM products Support the full software development lifecycle from initial requirements definition through software release and end-user support. Support the full software development lifecycle from initial requirements definition through software release and end-user support. Perform analysis of software requirements (often based on general objectives from other software engineers), deriving solution approaches, software architectures, and designs to meet the end-user needs. Work with customers on integration of our technology into their systems. Participate in software design and review sessions with the software team and other stakeholders. Perform detailed design, write software, and test/validate the software, ensuring software customer deliverables meet functional and quality requirements. Author software application notes and documentation to accompany software deliverables. Assist in supporting internal end-users of the software deliverables. Provide regular and accurate reports to the Leadership of Automotive Software Perform special projects, concept prototyping, lab/field testing, and other duties as necessary. Understand all aspects of the software development lifecycle and align the development process to enable data analytics to quantify and provide insight to process improvements. Understand the features integrated into our software products from several SiriusXM brands, including Pandora, Stitcher, Connected Vehicle and AdsWiz. Utilize best practices in implementing software deliverables. Perform special projects, lab/field testing, and other duties as necessary. What you’ll need: BS Engineering, Engineering Management or equivalent experience. 12-15 or more years expertise in software programs, project management involving embedded, real-time software for automotive and consumer electronic products. PMP Certification a plus Experience with Agile methodology including Kanban Minimum 10 years’ experience in software process improvement initiatives Expertise in Windows application and Windows driver development. Expertise in C/C++, object-oriented methodologies, and system software design concepts. Expertise with Android framework Experience in participating in formal documentation and source code reviews, providing relevant and insightful feedback to team members Extensive experience with all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle Extensive experience with Automotive Programs and timelines. Expert with (Jira, Jama, change management tools, and test tools). Experience with testing methodologies, best practices and continuous integration Experience with Software Release Management Familiarity in one or more of the following areas: Satellite receivers Automotive audio and infotainment products (radio head units, navigation systems, MP3 connectivity, CD players, telematics systems, etc.) Digital communications Client/server communications (e.g. PC/device) Internet Protocol products and technology IPC Mechanisms – Sockets, Message Queues, Shared Memory, etc. Communication security threat identification and prevention as applicable to automotive clients using SELinux, QNX or AAOS. Automotive development lifecycles Automotive SPICE methodologies and process Experience working in matrix environment, coordinating activities of multiple teams in multiple sites not under line management control.
