The successful candidate will be responsible for store and retail systems used in over 220 stores across the island of Ireland, identifying and implementing technical solutions to optimise business processes and supporting continuous improvement. We are looking for someone who can be a trusted technical lead, who understands business needs and is able to communicate complex technical details effectively.To be qualified for this role, you should hold a degree in a relevant field, like, Computer Science, IT or Software Engineering, or a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.What you'll doKeep the POS systems and customer facing solutions running smoothly in our storesManage new store openings and store modernisations to deliver the latest technology standards to our store colleagues and customers. Identify and implement efficiencies to business processes using technical solutions Provide comprehensive third level technical support for store and retail systemsDiagnose and troubleshoot problems including root cause analysis, testing of proposed fixes and follow up to ensure the problem has been resolvedConsulting with business departments on the introduction of new technologies and processes Coordination and execution of projects including the creation of technical concepts and relevant documentation Act as technical lead for cross departmental projects and ensure that IT policies and standards are adhered toManging relationships with selected vendors ensuring that service delivery meets all expectationsWhat you'll needRequired:Degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, IT or Software Engineering, or a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role with client-facing experienceProficient in Windows Operating Systems (Client\Server)Basic network knowledgeComfortable with learning new systems and applying them in every-day useA keen problem-solver with the ability to use critical thinking to find the most productive solutionUnderstanding of KPIs and SLAs with proven ability to adhere to themExcellent organisational and time management skillsExcellent presentation and communication skills with the ability to communicate with colleagues of all levelsExperience of working in or leading a project teamFull drivers license Desirable:Linux experience – Red Hat and CentOSAdvanced networking knowledge – Cisco, Huawei, Fortinet, BarracudaKnowledge of Oracle / SQL databasesKnowledge of scripting and automation tools desirable – PowerShell, Python, Ansible etc.Vendor certifications such as Cisco, CompTIA A+, Microsoft etc.German language skillsWhat you'll receiveThrough our salary system, we ensure pay equality across all positions at Lidl€49,500 rising to €63,000 after 3 years20 days holidays per annum rising to 25 days after two yearsPrivate employee medical insuranceCompany pension after one year of serviceFlexible start and finish timesInitial training and on-going development from an experienced team memberExcellent opportunities for career progressionIndividuals recognised as high performing will be invited to join our Leadership Academy as part of your on-going developmentDynamic work environmentModern office facility with free parkingOn-site gym and canteenUp to 2 days remote working per weekMobile and broadband discounts with Three networkLidl is an equal opportunities employer.
