Your new company Our client is a family-owned Irish company who have been dedicated to the supply of crop protection products for over 30 years. Although their main focus is glyphosate, they also specialise in a growing range of herbicides and fungicides for the broad-acre market. The client focusses on understanding and fulfilling the needs of customers on a local and European level using the highest quality standards and dedicated service. Your new role As an Environmental Health and Safety Officer, you will work as a team member in regulatory and corporate requirements and maintenance of the EHS management system. Key Duties and Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):Strong focus on strengthening site environmental management program and implementing innovative environmental support systemsin line with ISO14001.Manage Industrial Emissions License (IEL) and complete and/or co-ordinate monitoring and report programs as per IEL- noise, water, air, soil, nuisance smells key areas of focus.Develop, implement and revise EHS Standard Operational Procedures.Inspect and evaluate the environment, equipment, and processes in working areas to ensure compliance with government environmental regulations, guidelines, and industry standards.Complete and Communicate Risk Assessments (chemical agent risk assessments, ergonomics, general task based, environmental assessments).Managing contractors, ensuring safe working systems. Understand, review, and approve external Contractor RAMs, Safety Statements and Training Records.Develop, maintain, and audit permits for work systems.Assist in developing the safety management system in line with ISO45001.Develop and deliver Audits on EHS Site Compliance.Continuous development in keeping up to date with new legislation and implementing changes as required.Develop and Coordinate Occupational Health programs.Work closely with Production, Manufacturing and Laboratory Teams integrating new and existing environmental and safety behavioural standards and safety initiatives in line with LEAN practices.What you'll need to succeed Level 8 Degree/Higher Diploma in Occupational Safety Health and Welfare and/or equivalent discipline.Minimum 4 years’ experience in a specific environmental role.Minimum 4 years’ experience in Health and Safety.Knowledge and experience are essential in IPPC license /IEL and strong knowledge in EPA regulations and guidelines.Minimum 2 years’ experience in Managing ProjectsExcellent Computer SkillsExcellent Communication Skills (Verbal and Written)What you'll get in return Competitive salary: €60,000 - €68,000 (DOE)Company pensionHealth insurance Paid sick leave Continuous professional development within all areas of environmental health and safety as part of an Upper Tier Seveso and IEL site.Training and development within areas such as Environmental, Safety , Health, COMAH, Behavioural Based Safety, Lean, Leadership Skills.Flexible working optionsOnsite parkingCompany events
