We are seeking a Field Service Technician Lead who will report directly to the Service Manager. The individual will be responsible for leading a team of Field Service Technicians across Ireland, focusing on the safe and efficient installation and maintenance of our automated machinery. Key responsibilities include coordinating personnel, scheduling service requirements, managing parts logistics, performing field tasks such as installation and maintenance, and ensuring the consistent operation of our machines.We are dedicated to caring for our people as the foundation for building a great team and delivering exceptional service. The ideal candidate will be passionate about both people and the environment, with a strong drive to provide top-tier service.Main Duties:Lead by Example: Effectively manage and lead a team of field service technicians, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to our customers. This includes ensuring appropriate field coverage to meet service requirements and maintaining team morale.Communication: Keep the team well-informed by communicating relevant business updates, ensuring that everyone is aware of their responsibilities and how the business is operating.Roster Management: Develop and manage an efficient roster to meet customer KPIs while aligning with business operational efficiencies.Field Tasks: Perform installations, corrective, and preventive maintenance on our machines regularly. The amount of fieldwork will vary depending on business needs.Team Development: Facilitate the growth and development of the team, both collectively and individually.Champion Improvement: Advocate for continuous improvement in processes, products, and people.Customer Commitments & Safety: Ensure the team meets customer commitments and adheres to safe practices.Consistency in Service: Ensure consistent quality in installations and service while following and improving policies and processes when necessary.Liaison Role: Act as the primary link between the Service Manager and the field team.Mentorship: Mentor the field team, addressing operational questions and challenges that arise in the field.Training: Provide both formal training and on-the-job guidance to team members.Safety & Toolbox Talks: Conduct toolbox talks and safety assessments to ensure a safe working environment.Performance Management: Manage team performance and participate in conducting yearly Performance Evaluations and Job Discussions for all team members.Recruitment: Assist in recruiting and onboarding new field service technicians as the business expands.Health & Safety: Take reasonable care for your own health and safety, as well as the health and safety of others affected by your actions or inactions.Qualifications:Leadership Experience: Experience leading a team in a similar field-service management role.Field Experience: Hands-on experience in providing complex service or maintenance work in the field.Customer Interaction: Previous experience interacting directly with customers and maintaining strong customer relationships.Technical Skills:Mechanical: Ability to read mechanical drawings.Electrical: Ability to read wiring schematics.Electronic: Experience troubleshooting electronic equipment, including the replacement of circuit boards, sensors, and other components.Customer Service: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate and maintain relationships with customers.Driving: Must have a full, clean driving license, with a willingness and ability to drive for extended periods and navigate effectively to and from locations.Safety Awareness: Demonstrated awareness of safety procedures and practices in previous roles; workplace safety training is an advantage.Professionalism: A history of professionalism, independent work capability, reliability, and pride in one’s work.Qualifications: Relevant qualifications or certification in electrical, electronic, or mechanical engineering are desirable.Language: Fluency in English.Location: Must be located in the Dublin area.Work Eligibility: Must be entitled to work and live in Ireland.Additional Information:Benefits:Salary: Competitive, based on experience.Duration: Permanent role.Healthcare: Private healthcare plan (VHI).Holidays: Starting from 21 days per annum, with an additional day added per year up to 25 days, plus bank holidays.Employee Assistance Program.Pension: Contributory pension scheme.This position offers an opportunity to lead a dedicated team, with the potential for growth and development within a dynamic environment.
