Independent Learning Center (ILC) Coordinator

Position Details Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferredTeaching, counseling, or social work experience at the middle school level preferredFamiliarity with ILC fundamentals/philosophy and perceptual control theoryAt least two years of experience in monitoring and operating an ILC room, ILC processes and procedures with middle school age students preferredCrisis Prevention Institute (C.P.I.) training or willingness to be trainedDemonstrated technical skills (experience with Google Drive and Microsoft Office including Word and Excel)Must pass background check Responsibilities Responsible for the daily operation of the Clare Middle School ILC program, including but not limited to: Keep the building administration completely and continuously informed relative to the ILC program, including the reporting of monthly discipline numbers and concernsCommunicate with the counselor any concerns regarding student behaviorCommunicate with parents and other authorized individuals regarding student problems/issues and maintain a report system of communications madeWork with individual students and groups of students to enable them to cope with school adjustment problems in the areas of social, emotional, physical, and intellectual needsMaintain a thorough and accurate record, via paper and digitally, of student referrals and follow-upProvide appropriate and meaningful guidance Establish and maintain favorable relationships with professional staff, parents, and the communityAssist students and parents in the arrangement and development of intervention plans and strategiesMaintain confidentialityPredictable, reliable attendance is an essential function of the jobConsistent and reliable performance of job responsibilities is an essential function of the jobPerform any and all other duties that may be assigned by administration For further information, please see the attached posting or visit our website at www.clare.k12.mi.us.
