Product Development Engineer

Job Description Nordson MEDICAL , a global leader in the medical device industry, is seeking a temporary Prod uct Development Engineer to join our team in Galway, for a period of 4 months because of a parental leave cover . We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace, and we are looking for candidates who share that same commitment.    Summary of the role As Product Development Engineer you will support product development of medical devices from feasibility through to market introduction on a contract basis for our customers. You are a self-motivated individual who is excited by the prospect of supporting projects in a dynamic environment to support business growth.   This is an exciting role working with a variety of customers from start-up to multi-nationals in a wide range of clinical spaces. This is an ideal opportunity for you when you are looking to expand your experience in different clinical applications.   Role and Responsibilities Development of balloon catheters, braided shafts and/or delivery systems for use in medical procedures to meet customer needs from initial prototype to commercialisation Development of effective, reliable, and efficient processes for medical device manufacturing to consistently delivery product meeting customer, quality and regulatory standards Documentation of design and development activities in adherence to product development process deliverable supporting development from prototyping through to product commercialisation Design, develop, analyze, troubleshoot, and provide technical support during product development, validations and commercialisation activities Identify, escalate and mitigate technical and project risks throughout the product development process   Skills and Qualifications Experience with product development process (PDP), medical device design and regulation is essential Minimum 5 years’ experience in medical device industry, ideally with catheter, braided shaft or delivery system experience Level 8 Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Biotechnology programs. Proven record in innovative design and/or product development Proven record in solving problems with innovative, efficient and cost-effective solutions Strong interpersonal, planning and communication skills   About Nordson Medical At Nordson Medical, we value diversity and inclusivity in all aspects of our business.
