About the Role: Leo Lynch is seeking a Pre-Construction Director who will be part of an exciting, fast moving and growing business team. The right candidate for this job will be a self-starter with dedication to seeing projects through to the end. You will have an eye for detail and determination to standardize processes and turn-over high-quality work. You will be an integral part of the team that works cross-functionally to deliver results.    This position will work closely with internal partners to deliver a portfolio of complex, multi-disciplinary, multi-million, multi-year construction projects in various new markets. You will ensure pre-construction activities including due diligence, design readiness, procurement strategy and constructability are addressed appropriately to enable the construction team to deploy projects safely, on-time, to quality and budget.    This position involves direct contact with both internal and external stakeholders, and this candidate must have an ability to communicate effectively with business partners at every level, including upper management to inform decision making.    Our ideal candidate is detail-oriented, able to work backwards from our client needs. The right person for this position will take ownership of their work, display a great deal of initiative, and possess sound judgment and a great business acumen.  Responsibilities: The Pre-Construction Director will be responsible for building a team that establishes standard pre-construction processes and aligns those processes across all regions.  You will establish key pre-construction metrics that measure the performance of internal and external stakeholders. You will be responsible for providing the Construction deployment team with design and procurement inputs on time ahead of construction start.  The Pre-Construction lead will be responsible for building and managing interfaces with internal teams and develop cross-functional alignment to deliver results. Ensure bidding and pre-construction excellence, leading to reduced risk, improved delivery and margin security through effective bid management. Provide program and project management expertise to complex business initiatives that are regional in nature, understanding dependencies and accounting for complexity relative to scope/schedule and budgets. Manage a diverse team of Managers; coaching, mentoring, and leading the team while providing opportunities for career growth. Build relationships and collaborate globally with stakeholders and partners to deliver outcomes across the organization, ensuring a shared understanding of progress and performance. Seek opportunities to bring about ongoing improvement and simplification in business operating procedures and practices leading to improved effectiveness of the organization. Track and manage priorities and committed actions to drive progress and provide actionable insights. Candidate requirements: Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or an equivalent engineering science. 15+ years of related construction management experience of large, complex projects involving large-scale mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) plants.  7+ years of experience directly managing, mentoring, leading, and coaching construction management and/or engineering professionals.  5+ years of experience in pre-construction activities such as site due diligence, design management and procurement strategy development.  7+ years hiring, promoting, disciplining, and developing teams of professional construction/engineering staff.  General contractor and vendor management experience (request for proposals, bidding, change orders) associated with construction and project execution. Preferred qualifications: Experience directly related to the design or construction of mechanical and electrical plants within pharma, life sciences or semi-conductor industries. Experience working on construction projects in UK and Ireland. Experience working with large-scale technical operations, mission-critical mechanical/electrical infrastructure. Possess clear English written and verbal communication skills and ability to use data to justify conclusions.
