S oc ial Care Worker - Community Services    Role:   The overall purpose of the role is to provide a stable and secure home environment for the people who live in the house, to develop peoples skills in a home environment and to facilitate their meaningful, sustainable engagement with their community. In addition, to support the Community Person In Charge (PIC ) with administration duties.   Rights : Promote, protect and ensure the full and equal enjoyment of all human rights and fundamental freedoms by all persons with disabilities, and to promote respect for their inherent dignity.   Person Centered : Placing the service user at the centre of our supports, services and decision-making.   Inclusion : To support full inclusion in all educational, employment, consumer, recreational and domestic activities that are typical in everyday society. Partnership: Partner with people who use our services, their families, funders, government agencies, housing agencies, local community members and local authorities.     Location : In a designated centre consisting of 4 community houses in the Templeogue /Kimmage catchment area.   Key relationships: The role involves working with people we support, their families, team members, organisational colleagues, employers and community members.   Qualification requirements: NFQ Level 7 or above in Social Care / Applied Social Studies Have a good working knowledge of HIQA Full drivers licence and own car is desirable                                  Description of role:   The position requires a high degree of understanding and commitment to people who use Cheeverstown Services. The primary duty of care at all times is towards their health, safety and welfare.   The person appointed must be highly responsible and reliable, be competent in household management and have the ability to create and maintain a trusting, homely environment. The position requires a high degree of professionalism. The person will have experience in working with people with an intellectual disability and autism. The person must possess excellent communication, interpersonal and report writing skills. The person would preferably have a full clean driving licence and willing to drive the service vehicles allocated to the house. Possess a proven ability to work on their own initiative.     Salary will be paid on Social Care Worker scale as per HSE consolidated salary scales.   Closing date for applications: 3rd May 2024   A panel may be formed for future vacancies.
